Supporting individuals and families through motivational interviewing
Who can benefit from MI training?
Some benefits of MI at home include:
Do any of these resonate?
I have nearly 20 years of experience working with all sorts of people - from seasoned professionals to recent graduates, para-professionals, friends, and family. I help people identify the pitfalls in their approach to "helping" and provide alternatives that will get you better results.
For those new to MI, my approach focuses on implementing bite-sized pieces of MI that can be scaffolded. In order to do this, I developed an innovative online practice platform that walks people through the material without leaving them overwhelmed and not knowing where to begin.
“My experience using the MI Companion taught me a lot about respecting people’s autonomy and resisting the ‘righting reflex.’ It was a new way to engage people that was respectful.”
"The material is presented in a way that is easy to follow and concise. The best part is that we were left with some homework to practice the skills. So many times after trainings, seminars, meetings, etc. the material gets shelved. These simple practice assignments move the material into everyday settings."
"I have had training in the past, where I didn't know what to do next. This training simplified how MI really works so I could go and use it."
